Public Comments needed on new CZM changes

Meeting Thursday July 22 7 pm at Wilcox Elementary

The Office of Planning Coastal Zone Management (CZM) Program is seeking public review and comments on Section 309 Draft Assessment and Strategy 2011-2015. Section 309 Enhancement Grants Program is a Federal program that encourages CZM to develop programs and changes in one or more of 9 enhancement areas: Ocean/Great Lakes Resources, Public Access, Coastal Hazards, Cumulative and Secondary Impacts, Wetlands, Marine Debris, Special Area Management Planning, Energy and Government Facility Siting, and Aquaculture. Hawaii’s program must be approved by the Federal Office of Ocean and Coastal Resource Management for the CZM Program to be eligible to receive Section 309 grand funding.
